"Buzz saw" sound while using Dock-N-Talk via Bluetooth on Pre

June 29th, 2009 No comments

Does anyone else have callers complaining about, what sounds like, a buzz saw when you are using a BT device on the Pre?

I have a Phone Labs Dock-N-Talk, that I use with my cell.  I have used D-N-T since they first arrived on the scene.  I have been through several firmware upgrades and even replaced it last year with a newer model. I have never had any issues with it, ever.

Since the arrival of the Pre, my callers complain about hearing a buzz saw sound. I never hear it on my end.  They say it’s much louder when they call me than when I make the call.

To eliminate any possible environmental interference, we went so far as shutting the main circuit breaker to the house and running the D-N-T on my APC battery backup normally used for the computers. We then removed batteries from the 2 cordless phones. That made no difference.

I shipped the D-N-T back to Phone Labs thinking it had gone bad, and they cannot get it to fail.  After extensive testing (they had no Pre to test it with unfortunately), they sent it back for me to try and it still has the same problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

HTC Touch Pro Display Issue!!!!

June 29th, 2009 No comments

I’ve downloaded the Chinese font support to my HTC touch pro,

but it seems to mess up with the visual touch keyboard,

so I removed the program and reboot my phone as requested.

Next thing I know, my screen is black.

I tried couples of times to reboot the phone,

I can only see the display screen of "HTC Touch Pro" when it first appear

then it turns to black and no response to the keyboard.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Do I need to perform a hard reset for the phone? if so, how do I do it? Thanks!

I can’t hear what people are saying while i’m driving down the interstate. i don’t know what i would do if i was in a room with loud music.  i have the volume maxed out but it sounds low and a bit muffled. with my BB pearl i would have to turn the volume down so other around me would not hear my phone calls. not the case with the Pre.

is anyone having this problem?

WebOS 1.0.4 is out

This is just a security update. It prevents installation of homebrew apps via an email link. If you want PimpMyPre, you’d better install it before updating.

Windows Update error on Touch Pro

June 29th, 2009 No comments

Hello,

I have the HTC Touch Pro from Sprint.  As of last week I started noticing an issue where whenever I would go to the "System" tab under my settings and tap on "Windows Update" the device simply hangs.  After several minutes I receive a notification that a connection to the windows update server could not be made, that I should check my connection settings, and/or make sure the date and time on my Pocket PC device are correct.  After having done all of these things, plus after having done two hard resets, this issue still is the cause of some agrivation for me.  Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what was done to rectify this issue?  I have searched in vain for any information of any pending or upcoming Touch Pro updates yet to be released.  Any information or help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!
